Four ways we turn curiosity into capability.
From competition teams to open community events, our programs meet students where they are and give them a place to build, learn, and lead.
Program 1 — Robotics Team Sponsorship & Support
We recruit, train, and support student-led robotics teams competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) or FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), with priority given to schools and community organizations in underserved communities. For each team, we provide:
- Full funding for FTC or FRC registration fees, equipment kits, and competition travel
- Qualified adult coaches and mentors with engineering or STEAM backgrounds
- Workshop space, tools, and technical infrastructure for team meetings and build sessions
- Engineering-notebook guidance, preparing students for judge interviews at competition
- Coaching through regional qualifiers, the Bay Area Championship, and the California State Championship
Program 2 — Community Innovation Projects
Each team develops a community-focused engineering project alongside their competition robot. Students identify a real problem in their neighborhood — infrastructure, environmental, educational, or accessibility challenges — and design STEAM-based solutions. Projects are presented at a community showcase that brings together local officials, parents, partner organizations, and community members.
Program 3 — STEAM Workshops & Outreach
We conduct outreach and social events to promote awareness about robotics among younger students and to spark their interest in innovation, including hands-on sessions at libraries, schools, and special-needs educational centers. These workshops introduce engineering and problem-solving early, in a welcoming, low-pressure setting.
Program 4 — Mentorship, Scholarships & College Readiness
Coaching, scholarships, and college-readiness support help students carry momentum well beyond a single season. We connect students with mentors, help them document their work, and support their next steps in STEAM education and careers.
Who we serve
Our programs are designed for students in grades 6 through 12 across the San Francisco Bay Area. All programs are provided without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, or other protected class. Sliding-scale fees and full scholarships ensure that cost is not a barrier to participation. All of the organization's activities are conducted within the United States and its territories.
